East Greenwich Students Getting a Little More Shut-eye0

Middle and high school students are getting more sleep now that the school district has pushed back the start of the school day, but a Brown University sleep expert says they probably still need more sleep, reports Providence Journal.

Dr. Sharkey, an East Greenwich parent and sleep expert at Brown University, said the survey found students got an extra 28 minutes of sleep after the change in start times, from 6:14 a.m. to 6:42 a.m. But students also went to bed an average of five minutes later once the changes were made.
